Why should we be a roman when we are in rome?

Usually there is always a proverb to fit every occasion.

The proverb 'When in Rome do as Romans do' means when we are with Romans, we should openly accept their culture.

This is a good thing and it demonstrates our unorthodox nature and our willingness to accept other cultures.

However, we should understand the demarcation as to what extent this saying should be accepted.I agree to this statement but to some extent I disagree to this proverb.

Every culture has their own ways of celebrating their happiness and sad moments.

For example, in Indian culture, weddings are considered to be one of the biggest events in the family and it goes on for 3 days.

If an american or British attends such events in traditional Indian wear and appreciates the culture, the local people will be more than happy to accept them and involve them in every rituals.

Similarly if an Indian attends an american or British wedding happily like other american and British people, the locals will be delighted and they will accept Indian culture openly.

Every culture has its positive and Negative aspects. We should accept the positive aspects , however, the negative aspect can not be ignored.

Some cultures are very strict and sensitive about their religion and their way of life. For example, Muslims follow their religion strictly and their religion prohibits consumption of pork in their food.

Their sentiments should be respected and they should not be offered pork in their meals. However, accepting and following other culture is a threat to our own culture as well.

we tend to lose our own traditions and beliefs in an attempt to follow and embrace other cultures.

Future generation will not learn their real tradition and culture and in this process, there is a chance that we will lost our own values.

Why should we marry ?

What were once good reasons to get married are largely irrelevant today. Here are four classic reasons to get married:

So we can live together. As you pointed out in your question, this reason no longer applies to the many couples who live happily together without getting married.

So we can have children. Again, it is possible to have children and be wonderful parents without getting married.

To make a solid commitment. That’s a charming one. We are getting married to make it harder to walk away from each other. How romantic.

To make our relationship official. You could achieve that by placing an announcement in the newspaper saying, “We are now official.” You don’t need a caterer to serve gazpacho soup in a ballroom just to make it official.

So what are we left with? If not to live together, to start a family, to make a commitment or to make it official, why get married?

There’s only one reason.

Marriage makes a relationship divine.
Getting married means that something bigger than both of you is bringing you together.

A wedding achieves something that simply can’t happen otherwise: G‑d is introduced into the relationship.

Until they are married, a couple’s commitment to each other is a human commitment, with all the limitations of being human.

We can’t see the future, we can’t know what may change and what may eventuate, and we make mistakes. The chupah elevates the commitment beyond human limitations.

The blessings made under the chupah invoke G‑d’s name upon the couple, and bring G‑d into the union as a partner.

You are married not just because you chose to be, but because G‑d has said so.Without a chupah, you can have love, commitment and family—but it isn’t holy.

Only by standing under a chupah and marrying according to tradition does your union become sacred. Only after the wedding is your love blessed with the divine imprint of eternity.

Why should we have a hoddy?

1. Hobbies are an excellent way to de-stress
Let’s say I had pursued music as a career. Music has always been a de-stresser for me. Always.
Music would become my source of stress in many ways if it was my career. Spending too much time on the road, having tight deadlines for the studio, and lack of sleep can make you do crazy things.
It would be sad if music ceased to be the place I visit when I’m stressed and became the reason I experience stress. Where would I go to de-stress? What would I do? Maybe that’s why so many rockstars have historically turned to drugs?
Graphic design is my career and—believe me—my guitar or my piano has been a great help to me during times of stress.
(I’m not saying that music is a bad career choice, of course.)

2. Hobbies help you think clearly
I lose track of time when I play or write music—it’s wonderful. My mind stops running a mile a minute and I stop thinking about the future. I stop thinking about goals and everything that needs to be accomplished within the week.
I simply live in the moment.
I’d venture to say that living in the moment is rare in our society. Most people live in the past. Most visionaries live in the future. We need to find ways to live in the present more often.

3. Hobbies have terrific health benefits
You don’t have to be a 50 year old with high blood pressure to enjoy a hobby. There are more options than gardening. (But if you want to plant a garden, go for it!)
Even Millennials need a hobby. There are several health benefits that come from it. Staving off depression is a big benefit.

4. Hobbies re-spark your creativity
Inspiration is obviously important to creative professionals. What do you do when you feel like you’re running on fumes? You aren’t alone if this happens to you. Sometimes we feel like we don’t have an ounce of creativity left in us for the day. This can be bad when we’re on a deadline.
Turning to your hobby can do wonders when you need to get the creative juices flowing.
5. Hobbies are fun
This last reason may seem overly simplistic but it’s probably the most important. Life is short. If we allow it, life can be dull and monotonous.
You’ve probably worked with someone who seemed like a hamster in a wheel, right? Someone who has been doing the same thing every single day for 20 years…someone who seems joyless. Someone who is in a bad mood every day.
Adding a little bit of fun to your life can produce extraordinary results. It’s liberating to do something simply because  you want to, not because you have to.
When you schedule fun in your life, you have something to look forward to. When you decide to add fun to your life, your life can be a lot of fun!

Why should we write a dairy?

1. Writing Just To Write Is Great Practice

Virginia Woolf observed that writing for no audience – writing just to write – is great practice. “It loosens the ligaments.” Her diary writing, she noted, is rough and ungrammatical. She tended to write in her diary at a quick pace, “with no more pause than is needed to put my pen in the ink”, and, though looking back on these entries was embarrassing and mortifying, she traced improvements – “some increase of ease” – in her professional writing to all those casual half hours spent with her diary.

2. Occasional Brilliance Can Arise From Lots and Lots of Writing

David Sedaris, who wrote of keeping a diary for thirty-three years, accepted that most of it is really just whining -  “but every so often there’ll be something I can use later: a joke, a description, a quote.”

3. A Diary Is Not Meant for Others’ Eyes… Or Secretly Maybe It Is?

Susan Sontag talked about a time she read someone else’s journal and, specifically, about reading that persons’ true (and “curt, unfair, uncharitable”) feelings about her. “Do I feel guilty about reading what was not intended for my eyes?” she asked herself. No, she doesn’t – because she believed that one of the functions of a diary – a function we would more than likely deny to ourselves – is to be found and read. A diary is the one place where we have the opportunity and the luxury to be truly, cruelly honest, and it’s not inconceivable that we would secretly – dangerously, even – want others to learn those true thoughts.

4. Journaling Can Help You Come to Know, Understand Yourself Better

Joan Didion thoughtfully broke down why she kept a journal. Her method is typically to preserve everything she observes (from “dialogue overheard in hotels” to “impressions” of people), and while she often told herself the notebook is all about other people, she ultimately had to admit: it’s about her. “My stake is always, of course, in the unmentioned girl in the plaid silk dress. Remember what it was to be me: that is always the point.”

Anaïs Nin, on the other hand, said she writes to discover “the moments of revelation.” She actively chooses to write about heightened moments – “moments of emotional crisis” – because these are times when “human beings reveal themselves most accurately.” Keeping a diary, for her, was essentially about coming to better understand herself.

5. Looking Back On Old Entries Can Lead to True Reflection & Growth

Jessamyn West very astutely said, “People who keep journals have life twice.”

Maybe what she was referring to was that you have the moment you lived and then you have the moment you’ve written about – something you can always refer back to. Franz Kafka believed that referring back to old journal entries – looking back on situations, life changes, old sufferings – gives one a kind of reassuring feeling. You look back on these situations and times – some “which today would seem unbearable” – and you realize you lived, you survived. You were even able to write it all down! And doing so can lead to great wisdom about the self.

Jonathan Franzen also talked about the insights he gained from looking back at old journal entries. He speaks of the feelings of mortification he felt from reading even day-old entries, discovering his own “fraudulence and pomposity and immaturity.” These insights made him desperate to change himself, “to sound less idiotic.” His journal entries, he attests, led him to a private commitment to personal growth.

6. Diaries Can Be An Invaluable Aid to Winning Arguments

And then there’s this gem from David Sedaris: “[Keeping a diary is] an invaluable aid when it comes to winning arguments. ‘That’s not what you said on February 3, 1996,” I’ll say to someone.”

Why do we keep rangoli infront of our house doors ?

Questions to be asked before we go further as usual..

1.Why are keeping rangoli before your house..?
2.Who asked you to do so..?
3.How many times you keep it a week..?
4.What are the ingredients in the rangoli..?
5.Do you think about insects as god's creation or some waste creatures...?

1.Waking up early encourages a healthy start of a day. It is usually the most productive time in the day. After the ten minutes of Rangoli time, what you get is the most precious time for yourself. Enjoy beautiful sunrise, Have a nice cup of coffee,  Do your exercise routine or what ever....Waking up early is also a productivity method of rising early and consistently so as to be able to accomplish more during the day. This method has been recommended since antiquity and is presently recommended by a number of personal development gurus.

2. Rangoli powder is usually made up of rice flour which provides food for ants and other small creatures. It signifies to show the care & mercy towards the smallest creatures which co exist on earth along with us.

3. Traditionally (even today in most of the villages) the water which is sprinkled before putting rangoli is mixed with cow dung( Don't say Yuck..). Cow dung is also used to line the floor and walls of buildings owing to its insect repellent properties for some types of insects and mosquitoes. Cow dung also  provides food for a wide range of animal and fungus species, which break it down and recycle it into the food chain and into the soil.

4. In festive seasons like Sankranthi or in general Rangoli is put when people (especially ladies) group together. It improves social skills, learning skills. Believe me, ladies get competitive and do not hesitate to give their time and effort to make their own Rangoli the best.
Funniest thing is during Pongal, New year, women are well awake till late nights creating their own masterpiece. In the morning, if any cyclist unknowingly spoils it, he is dead ;). All ladies who lived in our street were powerful. So, cyclists used to be very careful while crossing it.

5. Rangoli seems to be an easy art. Infact it is, but some kind of Rangoli need lot of practice, creativity, logic, memory. For example try this.

6. Rangoli gives the person who made it, a sense of satisfaction, achievement,  confidence with no/ very little cost. All you need are place and little rice powder/or any white/coloured coarse powder which are very much affordable. What we create is purely left to our imagination. There is a possibility for different permutations and combinations for what we want create without worrying about money we spend. I think, Rangoli can be a very interesting hobby.

7. Fingers are very important parts of our body. Some of our body's most sensitive receptors are in finger tips and these are actually end points of nerves. Rangoli provides good amount of exercise or warm- up for finger tips, wrists and hands. Also, traditionally women do not sit while making Rangoli rather they stand and bend their body towards ground with out bending knees. It is a way of Trikonasan ( an exercise) which tones inner thighs, legs. It also pulls in the tummy automatically. Because the head is bent down, blood flow gets directed to brain. In total, traditional Rangoli making is a way of indulging women to perform yoga or exercise automatically everyday.

8.  Most of the Rangoli designs are symmetrical in shape. Any thing which is symmetrical in shape/design is beautiful (at least for me). As John Keats said "a thing of beauty is joy forever".

9. Can you believe that Rangoli was used as way of secretly teaching war plans in ancient India? I may not be able to show an evidence for this. It is a word of mouth. Royal forts or palaces were mostly symmetrical in shape and their top view resembles Rangoli design. Some intelligent women who do not have a chance to fight in the war physically,  used their imaginary skills to draw plans about going forward or escaping in the safest way by using different colours and symbols.

10. Putting dots and connecting them is the foundation for some Rangoli designs. Dots might be symbols of stars. Just like sun-signs and moon-signs, Rangoli might be a mystical quest for understanding sky and star orientations.

Why should we celebrate festivals.. ?

Have you ever thought as to why we celebrate festivals...as to why we have festivals in every religion?

The reason is quite simple.

From the time man came upon possessions, he has been lamenting about what he did not have thereby failing to enjoy even what blessed him with.

Not only that, he is never satisfied.  If there is something that his neighbour has and he does not have, that is reason enough for tension and stress.

In a world where negativity overshadows positivity, the proponents of every religion felt the need for festivals to introduce positivity through celebration of festivals.

During festivals we forget all our worries and focus on celebration.

This break from our negative thoughts helps create emotional balance and act as stress busters.

Festivals are like valves in the pressure cooker which releases the steam because in the competitive world our brains have become pressure cookers and perpetually in danger of exploding.

If there were no festivals, our negative thoughts would have had a free and continuous run without any respite.

Festivals are necessary to break the vicious circle of negativity in us and introduce positivity.

Festivals also provide an opportunity to make up with friends who have turned foes thereby helping in reducing friction and tension.

That is why every religion has festivals and it is necessary to celebrate them with pomp and pageantry.

Why do we celebrate birthday's ?

When you’re first born, still in single digits or even hitting 21, birthdays are pure joy: cake, ice cream, parties, friends and lots of presents.
Somewhere along the way, however, many of us start dreading them.

It’s only natural to get reflective and wistful as we pass these annual milestones. But there are many reasons to celebrate birthdays. And, as someone who still loves birthdays each year, here’s a list of my top 12.

1. You still have one
My dad says that having birthdays is much better than the alternative. Glib and flippant? Maybe. But true? Absolutely. It’s confirmation you have another day on this Earth to live and love.

2. Wisdom really does come with age
I am so glad, now steaming through my fourth decade, that I don’t have to make again the bloopers I made in my teens, twenties or even thirties.

3. Self confidence also comes with age
Young confidence is sometimes hard to separate from arrogance. But seasoned confidence is subtler, more assured than arrogant (for most folks, anyway).

4. Accomplishments really rack up
The older you get, the more you've done. Take stock of your life and give yourself a huge pat on the back. You've done a lot!

5. You've figured out the short-cuts
For the things you love to do, you probably don’t even realize the depth of your mastery. But with years of practice comes true skill. For instance, I rarely use recipes to cook, I know how to soothe a baby without looking in a book for clues and the garden in front of our house is thriving with just me as its caretaker.

6. Love
Whether you've been with your partner a long time, or not, you've no doubt loved intensely at some point in your life. Aging means you've had more time to love and more opportunities and people to love. That’s wonderful!

7. Treats
Who said only the kids get to munch on birthday food? I treated myself to a wonderful chocolate croissant this morning for my birthday. And I didn't feel one second of guilt.

8. Facebook
The older you get the more friends you have from different phases of your life — from grade school and on, through the different schools you've attended, jobs you've held, groups you've joined and cities you've lived in. Chances are those folks are sprinkled through your collection of Facebook friends. And when birthdays roll around, many of them send messages and cheery tidings of good wishes. It’s a day-long dose of happiness from people throughout your life. Pretty cool, if you ask me.

9. You reflect on where you've been and where you’re going
I think this is good thing. When you’re young, you merely celebrate birthdays. After you've put some real miles on your tires — so to speak — you can appreciate the journey. And you don’t take things for granted, as you tend to do without that perspective.

10. Silliness
It’s a day that no one is going to mind if you sing, blow bubbles, dance or just giggle a lot. You can be kid. But you can enjoy that like a grown-up.

11. Being grateful
In our younger years, we might whine when we don’t get the gift we want. Or, when something else disappoints us that seems like a big deal to our childhood selves. With maturity, we know how to put those things in perspective. We know what’s trivial and what really matters.

12. Cake
Birthday cake is still one of the very best things about birthdays, no matter how many you’ve had.
What are some of your favourite things about birthdays? And do you celebrate, or hide, when yours comes along?

Why do we wear watch to our left hand mostly..?

Before we sart lets me ask me few things...

1. Which hand are you wearing your watch...?
2. Who said you to wear it to your left hand.... ?
3. Why are you wearing it your left hand instead of right hand.. ?

Do you have answers for the above??
Well keep it in your temp for sthough me and decide whether your opinion is right or wrong. ..

1.During early days watches are invented they used to wear it like a locket to the chain. And watches during those days used to work with key and not bbatteries. So they used their right hand to give the key regularly. So wearing watches to left hand has gained its trend.Even though in later stages electronic watches are invented no one noticed it to be that important.
2.Keep watch to your right and see the scratches it catched within no time.
3 . Early 19th century people used to work so hard and they used to see watch so regularly and started wearing watch to their right hand. And after few days it was made so popular that people wearing watch to their left hand are called literary genious.

Now you decide to which hand you have to wear your watch.

Why do we do pradakhin's in temple..?

According to hindu culture right side is considered as sacred and god is said to be situated on your right side of your body and even in temples you can see that god always blesses you with his right hand.

And the power of the god resides in his right side.

So when you do pradakshnam, your right side Meets the direction of gods right side which in turn sends power to your right side.
